Disaster Prevention Thinking Workshop 2026 will be held in Nagaizumi Town. Under the theme "Thinking from Familiar Questions! Earth's SOS," this workshop aims to take actual events occurring in Nagaizumi Town, Japan, and the world as topics, delve deeper into the question "Why does this happen?", and from there think about "What can I do?" For example, from familiar questions such as "Why is the hiking course on Mount Ashitaka closed to traffic?", "A bear sighting warning was issued in Nagaizumi Town, but why was it fine until now?", and "This summer felt unusually hot with frequent evening showers, so what is the cause?", participants will explore the possibility of connections to a global SOS. This workshop is a unique disaster prevention event aimed not merely at gaining knowledge, but at "thinking" itself. Anyone in the 4th grade of elementary school or older can easily participate.
