About this event
The "Japan-Thailand Cultural Festival 2026" will be held for two days on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Kakuozan Nittaiji Temple in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. With the theme of a special collaboration where Japanese and Thai food and culture blend together, admission is free. On the main stage, a diverse range of performances from both Japan and Thailand will unfold, including Muay Thai shows (the national sport of Thailand), Thai dance, and from Japan: Nihon Buyo traditional dance, Kyogen, Wadaiko drums, Shamisen, and Awa Odori. A particular highlight is the live performance of "Eito x SANIMYOK," featuring Eito, known for the hit song "Kosui," and SANIMYOK, a band from Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. The venue will feature food and beverage stalls serving authentic Thai cuisine such as Thai curry, Pad Thai, Gapao rice, and Tom Yum Goong, as well as Japanese food. There will also be sales and information booths offering Thai and Japanese goods, clothing, and small accessories, as well as relaxation booths where visitors can experience traditional Thai massage. In the family area, which can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, activities such as Tuk-Tuk displays and photo opportunities, traditional Thai fruit/soap carving workshops, and Sepak Takraw games are prepared. Furthermore, visitors can enjoy unique programs at Kakuozan Nittaiji Temple, including tea ceremonies, flower exhibitions, temple tours, Zazen meditation sessions, the granting of limited-edition Goshuin temple stamps, and Buddhist sermons and memorial services.
