"Water Festival 2026," hosted by the Toyohashi Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau, is an event where you can learn about and experience the importance of water. It will be held at the Toyohashi Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau on Saturday, October 10, 2026 (Reiwa 8). At the event, a sewer facility exploration tour will be conducted, taking visitors inside the Nakajima Treatment Plant guided by Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau staff. This tour includes a visit to the Biomass Utilization Center, takes about 90 minutes per session, and is for ages 6 and older. In addition, "Autumn Historic Heritage Tour," a tour of the Takayama Water Purification Plant—the oldest water supply facility in Higashi-Mikawa—will also be held on the same day. This also takes about 90 minutes per session and is for ages 6 and older. Both tours are free of charge, but advance registration is required. In the event of cancellation due to weather or other factors, an announcement will be made on the official website.
