About this event
Held in Inazawa City, Aichi Prefecture, "Higashi Honganji Offering Okesoku Making!" is a hands-on event where local residents come together to create okesoku (decorative rice cake offerings for Buddhist altars) to be dedicated to the head temple of Higashi Honganji in Kyoto. In this event, participants can experience temple traditions and the preparation of Buddhist offerings, which are rarely encountered in daily life. Participants will discover new facets of the temple and local community connections. This event is held as part of "Inazawa Onpaku 2026 Autumn/Winter" and was also featured in the morning Owari edition of the Chunichi Shimbun. It is organized by Tsujunji Temple and co-organized by Nakashima Gun-kai. This is an opportunity to experience traditional culture and deepen exchanges with the local community.
