About this event
Jointly hosted by Chubu Community Center, the Children's Center, and the Gender Equality Center, "Fureai Plaza Festival 2026" is a day-long event packed with diverse activities aimed at deepening interaction among local residents. Running from 9:20 AM to 3:30 PM at Fureai Plaza, the festival kicks off with a powerful Japanese taiko drum performance by the Chubu Junior High School Taiko Club. Inside, the "Fureai Concert" hosted by Chubu Community Center showcases a diverse range of performances, including choir, ocarina, ukulele, traditional Japanese dance, hula dance, and gospel by groups such as the Chita City Junior Chorus Club. Visitors can also enjoy exhibitions of works by regular user groups and the Boys and Girls Invention Club, along with craft workshops making pinwheels, jack-in-the-boxes, and spinning jellyfish. The Children's Center offers plenty of fun for kids, including riddles, games organized by child staff, air trampolines, target shooting, and storytelling at the infant play area "Asobi no Hiroba." Paid workshop booths offer chances to make pressed flower crafts and win prizes in strike-out pitching games. The Gender Equality Center features Purple Ribbon Project exhibits, sales of sewn goods, rusks, coffee, and shiitake mushrooms, as well as colorful cord keychain workshops. At the finale, a performance by Chita Brass.Net brings the festival to a close. As parking is limited, the use of public transportation is recommended.
