About this event

This tour is a rare opportunity to actually walk on top of the Meitetsu Mikawa Line Toyota-bound elevated viaduct before the tracks are laid. By getting a close-up look at a construction site that is normally off-limits, participants can deepen their understanding of Chiryu City's continuous grade separation project and urban development. The tour is held 3 times a day, with each session lasting about 1 hour. Participation is free, but advance application and lottery selection are required. Eligibility is limited to individuals who live, work, or study in Chiryu City, and for safety reasons, participants must be in 4th grade of elementary school or older. Elementary and junior high school students must be accompanied by a guardian. On the day of the tour, participants will gather at the Chiryu City Hall North Parking Lot, check in, walk to Chiryu No. 7 Railroad Crossing, and tour the top of the viaduct from the construction site entrance. After the tour, participants walk back to the City Hall North Parking Lot and disperse. Photos of the tour may be published on the Chiryu City website and other media, but taking photos/videos and posting on social media inside the venue are prohibited. In addition, for safety reasons within the construction site, participation using wheelchairs or similar devices is not permitted.
