Kiso River Hands-on Experience Event

About this event

The "Kiso River Hands-on Experience Event" will be held, offering participants a close-up encounter with the history and ecosystem of the Kiso River in Aisai City. Participants can board the Kiso River sightseeing boat and experience passing through the Sendohira Lock Gate, a National Important Cultural Property. In addition, a program to collect and observe aquatic creatures of the Kiso River is also provided. The event is open to elementary school students and older (elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian), and the participation fee is 1,000 yen. Please bring clothing that can get dirty, rubber boots, a hat, and drinks. The recruitment capacity is 12 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The application acceptance period runs from Tuesday, September 1, 2026 to Friday, September 18, 2026. The event may be cancelled in case of rain, rising water levels, or strong winds.
