About this event

This is a walking event where participants walk while enjoying the rich nature and scenery unique to Owase, including the World Heritage Kumano Kodo. You can enjoy a refreshing autumn day by walking a variety of courses that let you experience the charm of Owase, surrounded by sea and mountains. Local hospitality and participant perks are prepared along the courses, allowing people of a wide range of ages to enjoy themselves. On Friday, November 20, a walking tour titled "Sekkaku Walk" will also be held to explore historic sites remaining in the town of Owase together with an Owase Furusato Guide. On Saturday, November 21, the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Magose Pass & Inohana Level Path Course (23 km), Giant Rocks & Sacred Prayer Site Iwayado Course (10.6 km), Magose Pass & Clear Choshi River Course (13.7 km), and Magose Pass & Grand Panorama Mount Tengukura Course (11 km, group walk) will be held. On Sunday, November 22, the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Mount Yakiyama Complete Traverse Course (13 km), Waterfall & Blue Sea of Yukinoura Course (10.5 km), Waterfall, Yukinoura & Mount Yakiyama Forest Road Course (17 km), and Hago Pass & Owase Water Route Course (8.7 km, group walk) will take place. Across the courses, you can savor the dynamic nature of Owase, including the cobblestones of Magose Pass, the mysterious space of Iwayado, the crystal-clear Choshi River, Mount Tengukura overlooking downtown Owase and Odaigahara, the demanding Mount Yakiyama, the southern coast route of Owase Bay, and mystical waterfalls.
