About this event
Toba Day will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Aiming to improve daily life services for residents and revitalize the local economy, this event features special discount campaigns, unique events, and exclusive projects that expand the circle of hospitality throughout Toba. Additionally, a stamp rally exploring the city will be held concurrently throughout the entire month of October. The stamps, sheets, and prizes are provided by the secretariat, making it a simple program that shops and organizations can participate in without burden. At Toba Aquarium, a one-day-only special event, 'Director Presents: Special Talk Show,' will be held in conjunction with 'Toba Day' on October 8. Commemorating the 39th ('Thank You') anniversary of the dugong Serena's arrival, visitors can hear rare stories, including behind-the-scenes tales of her care and episodes known only to Director Wakai, who has been in charge of Serena since she first arrived. Furthermore, on this year's Toba Day, an original clear file folder will be gifted to the first 1,080 visitors. Visitors can receive one folder per person by giving the keyword 'Toba no Hi' at the information desk inside the facility. This event is presented with gratitude to everyone who continually supports them on the milestone of Serena's 39th anniversary.
