Kuroshio Kaido Festival

About this event

Set against the rich nature of Isozaki-cho, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture, the "Kuroshio Kaido Festival" is held to express the local energy, provide an exchange forum for people from both inside and outside the city, foster a sense of solidarity among local residents, and serve as a catalyst for regional revitalization. Every year, various stage events and numerous food stalls are set up, drawing crowds of visitors. At the venue, beverages such as beer, chuhai, kanten cider, and tea are sold alongside konbu sushi, mehari sushi, takikomi gohan (seasoned mixed rice), bento rice balls, edamame, curry rice, french fries, yakisoba, frankfurters, tori tatsuta-age (fried chicken), miso dengaku, and shaved ice. In the Asanagi Market corner, dried fish, vegetables, general goods, and handmade products will be lined up, with a play area set up for children. On stage, visitors will be entertained by powerful Kumano Kijo Taiko drumming performances, Soran dance by the Kishu Dance Troupe, piano sing-alongs, hula dancing, acoustic live music, and dance performances. Around 50 parking spaces are secured near the venue, and a shuttle service from the Kumano Kodo parking area is also available.
