Japanese name:聖宝寺の紅葉

📅 Sat, Nov 28, 2026 - Fri, Dec 11, 2026

📍 Inabe, Mie

About this event

At Shoho-ji Temple in Inabe City, Mie Prefecture, maples turning vibrant colors wrap around the main hall from mid-November to early December each year, creating a magical landscape. The 'inverted maple' is reflected on the surface of Kagami-ike Pond within the temple grounds, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Because visitors climb about 300 stone steps, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Visible autumn foliage varieties include maples and ginkgoes. Approximately 3,000 visitors are expected during the period. The best viewing point is on the left side facing the main hall. Admission is by voluntary donation, and admission hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. Transportation access is a 20-minute walk from Nishi-Fujiwara Station on the Sangi Railway Sangi Line, or about 15 minutes from Inabe IC on the Tokai-Kanjo Expressway. The parking lot can accommodate about 100 cars, and the fee is 500 yen.
