Jama Terrace x Painters' Town Art Project

The "Jama Terrace x Painters' Town Art Project" will be held at Daio Art Gallery in Daio-cho, Shima City, Mie Prefecture. This project is set in the "painters' town" of Daio-cho, whose scenic landscape and local residents have long attracted art lovers. In this locale, where young painters and art students have visited since the Taisho era and have been warmly welcomed by townspeople, an art project presenting new expressions unfolds. From August 1 to September 27, 2026, visitors can experience the charm of this area through art at the painters' town Daio Art Gallery. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00 (last admission at 16:30; closes at 16:00 on the final day). It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but open on national holidays. It may be temporarily closed during severe weather. Admission is free. As part of Shima City's initiatives supporting the activities of painters, this event offers an opportunity to enjoy the fusion of local culture and art.
