Held in Taki Town, Mie Prefecture, "The Sustainability Forum for The Future in Mie" explores regional models of sustainability amid the growing importance of building a sustainable society. Set in Mie Prefecture, which boasts natural blessings, rich culture, and one of the world's leading clean industrial clusters, the event fosters in-depth discussions centered on "food" and "energy." In the keynote speech, Hisahide Okuda, President, CEO & COO of JERA Co., Inc., will speak on "True Sustainability and Its Pursuit." In Part 1, representatives from government, industry, academia, and local community leaders will gather to discuss from multifaceted angles how nature, industry, culture, and daily life can collaborate around food and energy to enhance local sustainability. Speakers include Yukitoshi Noro, Vice Governor of Mie Prefecture, and Taro Shimada, President & CEO of Toshiba Corporation. In Part 2, a special concert will feature internationally renowned soprano Ayako Tanaka performing alongside a string quartet composed of NHK Symphony Orchestra members, wrapping the future insights gained during the symposium in beautiful vocals and music. This event offers participants a valuable opportunity to contemplate together the path toward realizing a truly sustainable society.
