This opening event commemorates the 30th anniversary of the public opening of the Historic Site Kusatsu-juku Honjin. As part of the Art Festa Kusatsu History & Culture Area, the event will feature the "Children's Feudal Lord and Princess Honjin Entry," recreating how feudal lords and princesses used the honjin (official inn), as well as a virtual honjin experience. It provides a rare opportunity to directly experience the atmosphere of the Edo period. In addition, the "Honjin Rakuza Rakugo Gathering: Comparing Edo and Kamigata Rakugo" will be held on the same day, allowing visitors to appreciate the cultural differences between Edo and Kamigata through rakugo storytelling. Aiming to help people feel closer to the Historic Site Kusatsu-juku Honjin and its history, this festival offers visitors new discoveries and enjoyment through various attractions.
