Held at Iwamizawa Park Rose Garden, "Iwamizawa Rose Festa 2026 Autumn" is an event where visitors can fully enjoy the beauty of autumn roses. Unlike roses that bloom in early summer, autumn roses become more deeply colored, more fragrant, and of higher quality due to drops in temperature and diurnal temperature differences. Among approximately 630 varieties, around 400 are repeat bloomers, allowing visitors to enjoy the deep colors and rich fragrance unique to northern regions against the backdrop of autumn mountain foliage. During the event period, a wide variety of activities are scheduled, including rose tours led by rose care staff, a raffle available with purchases made at the rose garden shop, rose-themed "Hana-mikuji" (flower fortunes), citizen horticulture lectures, indoor events in the Shiki-kan (plant exhibitions, picnic marche, greenhouse events to enjoy with pet dogs, autumn concert), outdoor marche, live performances, cheer dancing, and more. In particular, workshops for flower arranging using roses from the garden and planting bulbs that will brighten early spring provide valuable opportunities for participants to directly interact with roses and plants. The best viewing time for autumn roses is from mid-September to mid-October, and the event period is set to match that timing.
