About this event
"Olive Festa '26," held in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, is a special 10th-anniversary project where visitors can experience olive picking. It will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Minami-Fukamizu Olive Farm. Event activities include an olive harvesting experience, olive sorting experience, olive oil tasting, and sales of olive-related products. In addition, balloon art, band performances, an olive wreath workshop, a picture book corner, and food booths serving curry and pizza will be available. It will be a day to enjoy the blessings of Fukamizu olives, now in their 9th year, by seeing, picking, and tasting. At the olive oil tasting, you can compare flavor differences to confirm the taste of genuine olive oil, and enjoy collaborative dishes combining local ingredients with olives. Live performances by local artists are also a highlight. With plenty of corners for children to enjoy, it is ideal for an outing with family and friends.
