Kumohara Experience Program 2026 (Summer): Let's Play at Kumohara River!

About this event

This is an experiential program that adds color to summer in Kumohara, fully enjoyable for both adults and children. Under the theme of "Creating together, playing together," staff and participants unite to fully enjoy a summer unique to Kumohara. The main event is the 20th Fish Catching Contest. You can chase rainbow trout with your bare hands, clean the caught fish yourself, and grill it with salt to experience the full meaning of "receiving life." In addition, a diverse lineup of programs is prepared, including the "Kumohara River Expedition" to search for river creatures with experts, the "Fudo-no-Sawa Stream Climbing Experience" at the headwaters of Kumohara River exclusively for ages 18 and older, and the "Kumohara Sabo Field Lecture" to learn about erosion control facilities in a Buratamori-style tour. At the venue, visitors can enjoy summer festival booths such as bouncy ball scooping and yo-yo fishing, as well as a market featuring vendors like anko-katsu specialty shops and D1Cafe. Programs will proceed inside the community center or in special pools during rainy weather, so you can participate with peace of mind.
