Held on Sunday, November 22, 2026, in Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture, the '34th Fukuchiyama Marathon' is an official event certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF). The course is the Fukuchiyama Marathon Course, with the start and finish point on the road west of Sandan-ike Fuso Chemical Arena, turning back at Nikanoshimo in Oe-cho. Race categories include the Full Marathon (42.195 km), Pair Relay Marathon (Leg 1 approx. 21.4 km, Leg 2 approx. 20.795 km), 10 km, Fun Run 2 km, and Fun Run 3 km. The Full Marathon features Registered, General, and Blind Marathon divisions, while the Pair Relay Marathon has a General division only. The 10 km also has Registered and General divisions. The Fun Run includes: 2 km for 1st/2nd grade elementary school students; and 3 km for 3rd/4th grade elementary school students, 5th/6th grade elementary school students, junior high school students, General (age 15 and above, excluding junior high students), and Pairs (elementary school students and above). For the first time, the event date has been changed to Sunday, November 22—the middle day of a three-day weekend—making it easier for participants traveling from afar to join and prepare their condition. Special guest runners include Moyu Fukada and Yuma Morii, along with supporting runner Junko Wakabayashi and Beijing Olympic women's marathon Japan representative Yurika Nakamura. This year's finisher medal features a design themed on 'Fukuchiyama Castle'. Aid stations along the course feature local specialties, and sponsor-provided items such as tonjiru (pork miso soup) and hot drinks are offered after crossing the finish line. Elementary school children and younger receive free admission to the adjacent zoo, science museum, and botanical garden at the venue. This event is a partner race of 'RUN as ONE - Tokyo Marathon', and 3 finishers from the full marathon will be selected by lottery to receive entry rights to Tokyo Marathon 2026 (entry fees and other expenses are borne by the participant).
