The popular cycling event 'Ayabe Satoyama Cycling 2026', where you can enjoy Ayabe's beautiful satoyama scenery in deep autumn, will be held. Under the theme 'The joy of riding through satoyama, the joy of welcoming visitors to the village of water sources', you can fully enjoy pleasant cycling while blending into the riverside scenery along the Kanbayashi River and Hataguchi River. Two types of courses are prepared: the 'Ayabe Kanbayashi Loop Course (approx. 70 km, free ride)' to enjoy at your own pace, and the 'Satoyama Leisure Course (approx. 35 km, group ride)' to leisurely savor the scenery; both include accompanying escort riders so participants can join with peace of mind. It is an event where you can experience Ayabe's autumn, rich in nature's blessings and warm hospitality, on a bicycle. Highlights also include a performance of the famous 'Omi Keyaki Grand Taiko Drum' and the provision of local specialties (drinking water, cookies, imoni stew, etc.) at aid stations.
