Held at Oomoto Shin'en, one of Ayabe City's premier autumn foliage spots, the "Ayabe Momiji Festival" is a seasonal tradition heralding the arrival of autumn. During the festival, a variety of events such as outdoor open-air tea ceremonies (nodate), koto performances, and concerts are scheduled, offering visitors a rich experience of art and culture. In addition, souvenir stalls will be set up, providing the fun of looking for local specialties and souvenirs. After sunset, bamboo lanterns are lit and the autumn leaves are illuminated. This magical sight creates a romantic atmosphere distinct from daytime and captivates visitors. Along with the beauty of the autumn foliage, this festival lets you fully enjoy autumn in Ayabe with various events and night illuminations.
