The 13th Kyoto Miyama Cycle Green Tour

Japanese name:第13回 京都美山サイクルグリーンツアー

📅 Sun, Oct 4, 2026

📍 Nantan, Kyoto

About this event

The Kyoto Miyama Cycle Green Tour is a long-ride event utilizing the entire nature-rich Miyama Town in Kyoto, known for its thatched-roof village (Kayabuki no Sato), enjoyable for both adults and children. There is no set course order; it uses an orienteering format that is rare in Japan, allowing participants to freely visit checkpoints and aid stations where local gourmet food can be fully enjoyed. Following the positive reception of Japan's first 'distributed start' system introduced in 2025, the event will take on the challenge again this year. The Miyama-cho Cultural Hall, which was the main venue, returns as a start point, and in addition, two aid stations and one checkpoint set up in town will each serve as start/finish points, making a total of four starting locations. By choosing your favorite spot to set off, the joy of designing your own journey expands—asking yourself, 'Where shall I start?' and 'Where shall I head next?' Looking at familiar roads from a different angle brings new discoveries. It will be an exhilarating experience for both repeaters and first-time participants. Furthermore, Miyama's unique hospitality using abundant local ingredients remains strong. The flavors waiting at every ride will further deepen the enjoyment of your journey. Set against the autumn colors of Miyama, spend a special day uniting the 'joy of riding,' the 'happiness of eating,' and a 'new starting experience.' Why not write your own story in Miyama?
