About this event

This is a kimono event held along the Chirimen Kaido, a Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings that flourished with Tango Chirimen silk crepe from the Meiji period through the early Showa period. Under the themes "Kimono suits you" and "Going out in kimono is fun," events reminiscent of the bustling atmosphere of that era will unfold. A street market utilizing open spaces along the road will feature stalls offering food and drinks, handmade accessories, kimono-related goods, and hands-on workshops. In addition, kimono dressing services (reservation required) are available if you bring your own kimono. Attractions include a mini steam locomotive ride and a model railway diorama exhibition by the Kaya Railway Preservation Society, as well as a fun lottery and tea ceremony service as special perks for visitors wearing kimono. Furthermore, rickshaw rides (paid) are available to enjoy while dressed in kimono.
