About this event
The "Kyuhoji Sky Lantern Festival 2026" will be held on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Kyuhoji Ryokuchi Athletic Stadium in Yao City, Osaka Prefecture. At this event, visitors can enjoy the magical spectacle of approximately 3,000 sky lanterns coloring the night sky, making it one of the largest in Japan. At last year's event in Osaka, lantern tickets were so popular that they sold out early. In addition to releasing sky lanterns, the venue offers contents to be enjoyed all day long, including street performance acts, live music by artists, a wide variety of kitchen cars, and nostalgic festival game booths such as shooting galleries and quoits. Please enjoy a special night experience with family, couples, or friends. The simultaneous lantern release is scheduled for 20:00 each day.
