About this event
'Minoh Tomi', a traditional festival held at the birthplace of lottery with a history of about 400 years, will take place on October 10, 2026, at Minoh-san Ryuan-ji Temple. On the day of the event, reception begins at 9:00 AM, and the Tomikuji lottery drawing will be held at 11:00 AM. To participate in the drawing, purchasing a Mini Daifuku-mamori amulet for 1,000 yen is required. Winners will be awarded the hereditary special amulet 'Daifuku Omamori' or 'Shofuku Ofuda'. Additionally, scratch-off 'Minoh Tomi-mikuji' lottery tickets will be sold at the shrine office on the grounds for 300 yen each. Furthermore, special viewings of the 'Kyokuden' (Guest Hall), built for visits by the Imperial Family, and the 'Ho-o-kaku' (Phoenix Pavilion), a registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, will be held. Purchasers of the Mini Daifuku-mamori amulet will receive special viewing tickets valid for November 20 (Fri) to 23 (Mon/Holiday) and November 27 (Fri) to 29 (Sun); however, this year, special viewing will also be exceptionally conducted on the day of October 10. You can enjoy this special day experiencing a traditional event continuing from the Edo period together with a stroll along the autumn Minoh Waterfall trail.
