About this event
This is a cultural property lecture held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Fujiidera's municipal organization. Focusing on the 1/40 scale diorama of a keyhole-shaped tumulus (kofun) modeled after the Nakatsuhime-no-Mikoto Tomb Kofun—the largest in the city—installed at Aicell Shura Hall, the lecture delves into its history, techniques, and the process leading up to the diorama's completion. In Session 1, Shuichi Miyawaki of Kaiyodo Co., Ltd. will speak on 'The History and Techniques of Diorama Making.' In Session 2, staff from the Fujiidera City Board of Education Cultural Property Protection Division will explain 'Until the Diorama of Aicell Shura Hall Was Completed.' In Session 3, Professor Emeritus Seigo Wada of Ritsumeikan University will lecture on 'Tumuli and Haniwa.' All sessions will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a capacity of 100 people. The tuition fee for all 3 sessions is 1,000 yen, which must be paid at the time of initial participation. A return postcard or online application is required to participate, and the application deadline is Wednesday, September 16.
