About this event
The Tadaoka Town Danjiri Festival for 2026 will celebrate Yoimiya (the festival eve) on Saturday, October 10. This festival is a traditional event held every year in October to pray for abundant harvests and safety. In the town, 4 danjiri floats from Nakanocho, Ikuta, Michinocho, and Hamanocho will parade through the town. On Yoimiya, the Hikidashi procession begins around 6:00 AM, followed by the morning procession from around 9:00 AM. A parade by the 4 districts is scheduled from around 1:00 PM, and after a ceremony is held in front of the Civic Center around 2:00 PM, the procession through the town will take place. The afternoon procession continues until around 5:30 PM, the Lantern-lit procession (Hiire Eiko) will be held from around 7:00 PM, and the procession is scheduled to end around 10:00 PM. During the danjiri procession, please follow the instructions of staff and security personnel, and stay away from dangerous or restricted areas. Please watch with proper etiquette, including taking your garbage home with you.
