About this event

The Nishinomiya City Museum of Local History (Nishihaku) will host the 41st Special Exhibition "Nishihaku Collection: Learning, Modern Landscapes, and Daily Life," introducing valuable collection materials gathered over roughly 40 years since its opening. This exhibition broadly introduces materials including educational history and folklore materials inherited from the Educational Materials Room, bird's-eye view maps of Nishinomiya City, paintings depicting modern Nishinomiya, postcards, and advertisements. Please take this opportunity to see the core part of the museum's collection, which has introduced Nishinomiya's history and culture to citizens since opening in 1985 (Showa 60). The exhibition will be held from Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, with free admission. The museum is closed every Monday (also closed if Monday is a national holiday). Opening hours are from 10:00 to 17:00 (admission until 16:30). Exhibition gallery talks will also be held on Saturday, September 26 and Saturday, October 10, 2026, starting at 10:30 (capacity of 20 people, first-come, first-served on the day). In addition, a special exhibition lecture "About the Nishihaku Collection" will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 13:30, and a workshop "Decoding Two Bird's-Eye View Maps of Nishinomiya City" on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11:00 (both require advance registration, free of charge).
