JR Kajiya Line Abandoned Railway Track Monitor Bus Tour: Tracing the Abandoned Line to Konpira-san

This bus tour traces the path of the JR Kajiya Line, which was decommissioned on March 31, 1990. It was once an important means of transportation that carried many worshippers to "Konpira-san," known as one of Banshu's Three Great Festivals. Walk along the abandoned railway tracks left in the idyllic rural scenery together with local resident guides who know those times. On the tour, you will walk along the abandoned line and "Poppo no Michi," view the remaining station name signs, and see KiHa 30 69, the only train car remaining in Kakogawa Line colors. Participant benefits include viewing video records of "The Final Day of the Kajiya Line," stamping station stamps of each Kajiya Line station, touring the Kajiya Line Memorial Hall and the inside of the train car, and experiencing the ticket punching of a 35th-anniversary decommissioned commemorative ticket (hard-cardboard ticket). As souvenirs, participants will receive a train tea box "Tetsu-chan" (containing 15 bags of Tanba black soybean tea), Kajiya Line Monaka (4 pieces), and Matsukai Water (plastic bottle). For lunch, you can taste a special station bento-style boxed meal created by Furusato Kobo Yumezo, active in Naka Ward, Taka Town. The tour includes a stroll around Otoshi Kotohira Shrine, the venue of the festival, and allows you to purchase Yamada Nishiki sake and local specialties at Roadside Station Yamada Nishiki Birthplace Town Taka (Michi-no-Eki Yamada Nishiki Hassho no Machi Taka).
