About this event
The Tamba Takeda Festival is a traditional autumn festival held at Ichinomiya Shrine in Nakatakeda, Ichijima-cho, Tamba City, Hyogo Prefecture. Also known by the alias "Rokusya Festival" (Six Shrine Festival), it is synonymous with the region's autumn festivities. Bearing banners ("ohata"), the portable shrines (mikoshi) of six shrines—Kamikamo, Nakakamo, Ichinomiya, Itsuki, Ninomiya, and Sannomiya—assemble at Ichinomiya Shrine and enter the grounds one after another in a truly heroic fashion. Praying for bountiful harvests, the festival also features the yakko-furi procession as one of its highlights. On the eve of the festival (Yoimiya), a performance by the a cappella group "BLESS" and a grand lottery offering luxurious prizes are held. On the main festival day (Hongu), the gathering of the six mikoshi, the yakko parade, mikoshi miyairi, interactive mikoshi, children's offerings (chigo kensen), children's mikoshi and recreational games, Japanese drum performances, and the six-shrine dedicatory drumming take place, bringing the festival to a flourishing conclusion with the return of the deities (kangyu).
