About this event
"Moon Viewing Summer Festival 2026" will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the outdoor facility "Wood Design Park Yoi" in Shiso City, Hyogo Prefecture. During the day, visitors can enjoy festival stalls featuring bouncy ball scooping and mini-games, summer festival-style gourmet foods and goods sold by local restaurants and shops, fortune-telling, and pet-related booths, making it enjoyable even when accompanied by pet dogs. Activities for parents and children include moon-viewing dumpling (tsukimi dango) making, an LED lantern workshop, and a plastic bottle rocket launch experience scheduled from 17:00. Starting from 19:00 after sunset, an astronomical observation session with commentary by the Kobe University Astronomy Club will begin, allowing visitors to observe the moon and stars with large astronomical telescopes. Those who participate in the astronomical observation until the end will receive a gift of an acrylic keychain with a limited-edition moon-viewing event design. Before and after the astronomical observation, handheld fireworks can be enjoyed alongside the facility's bonfires to color the end of summer. With festival stalls during the day, plastic bottle rockets in the evening, and the moon, stars, and fireworks at night, it is a packed day unique to September as summer transitions to autumn. The event will proceed rain or shine, though some content may be subject to change depending on the weather and conditions on the day.
