About this event
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the '2026 Mikazuki Area Samurai Residence Marche' will be held at the Sayo Town Mikazuki Community Exchange Center. The venue will feature various attractions for children and adults alike, including a market lined with food, drinks, and general merchandise, a cardboard maze and festival games for children, stage performances by local residents, a tea ceremony gathering, and a Mikazuki history quiz. Additionally, a 'Samurai Residence Walk' will take place to experience the local historical assets. Departing from the Mikazuki Clan Noino Jinya-kan, participants will tour the front gate and samurai residence clusters with local history guides. Former Takeuchi Residence, one of the samurai residences normally closed to the public, will also be opened for this event. In the afternoon, a commemorative lecture on the theme of martial arts of the Mikazuki Clan will be held, introducing martial arts passed down in the Mikazuki Clan from the perspective of historical anthropology using ancient documents and video footage. The event is held with the aim of creating an occasion where local people take center stage, gather, and interact, just like in the old Mikazuki Town.
