About this event

"Yamato Ze Kojitsu" is a regular market working to create a movement to protect and nurture wonderful businesses in Yamato Province (Nara Prefecture), centering around Yamatokoriyama City. Named after the Zen Buddhist teaching "Nichi-nichi kore kojitsu," it carries the meaning that every single day is a good day. Held on the 4th Saturday of every month, about 30 shops operating businesses in Yamato Province set up stalls, bustling as an open-air market. The regular crowd and new companions gather at the usual place, showing vibrancy through the gathering of local shops. The appeal lies in being able to try goods from independent shops little by little, allowing visitors to enjoy exploring local stores. Live music performances and hand-cranked organ performances are also sometimes held at the venue. Based on the belief that town improvements come from positively accepting everyday occurrences and imagining a wonderful future life, it aims to support the challenge of bringing fresh air alongside good locally rooted commerce and activities, passing the baton to the next generation. There is no parking lot at the venue, but bicycle parking is available. Use of nearby paid coin parking is recommended.
