About this event

Municipalities from the central and southern Nara area gather for the popular event '15th Fun History Festival', which communicates regional charm under the theme of 'history' at Asuka Historical National Government Park. Please spend time experiencing history and culture in Asuka Village in autumn. Packed with stage events, exhibits, and hands-on corners to learn history enjoyably, visitors can enjoy World Heritage talk shows, municipal PR entertainment stages, the Grand Marche, and the special exhibition 'Irohani Swords'. Titled 'Grand Marche in Asuka Historical National Government Park', famous Nara shops gather at the venue to sell local specialties and offer signature delicacies. Under the theme of 'Energizing the Central and Southern Nara Region with History Entertainment!', the Fun History Festival is an event where you can see, touch, and feel the fun and depth of history on site while presenting entertainment based on historical culture. For stage events, an opening ceremony, a World Heritage talk show, and a comedy show by Murasaki Shikibu (Yamatokoriyama Tourism PR Ambassador) are scheduled on Saturday, October 17. On Sunday, October 18, popular female balloon artist Rainbow Balloon Performer Mizuki, Clown Nanashi, municipal PR entertainment stages, and a Japanese sword lecture will be held. Event programs include the special exhibition 'Irohani Swords' of Yamato, the Motherland of Japanese Swords, and a World Heritage coloring contest (for elementary school students and younger), with shopping voucher gifts awarded upon bringing in completed coloring sheets.
