Shadow Puppet & Box Puppet Theater Workshop with Puppeteer Noriyuki Sawa

This is a shadow puppet and box puppet theater workshop led by puppeteer Noriyuki Sawa, an Otaru native based in the Czech Republic who has performed in over 20 countries worldwide. As a leading figure in manipulating all kinds of figures from tiny to gigantic puppets, Mr. Sawa will guide children into the world of creation. The workshop will be held over 2 days. On Day 1, participants will watch Mr. Sawa's puppet show and try making shadow puppets. On Day 2, participants will create puppet shows with their favorite characters using a "Box Theater" made by repurposing everyday boxes. This workshop offers a valuable opportunity to nurture children's imagination and creativity.
