ART FES in KITO

About this event

Based on the concept of "A day where nature and art resonate together," "ART FES in KITO" is an inaugural comprehensive event held in Shimoichi Town, Nara Prefecture. As a new initiative of "Min-Gei," it features an outdoor music stage alongside indoor art exhibits and workshops. The venue, "KITO FOREST MARKET SHIMOICHI," is an experiential complex renovated from an abandoned elementary school, featuring a restaurant serving locally sourced dishes, a craft beer brewery, and shops selling regional specialties, allowing visitors to experience the charm of nature-rich Shimoichi Town. A traveling exhibition of original works from "Big Hata in Todai-ji" and a private art museum will also be held, with a diverse lineup of guests enlivening the event, including local singer-songwriter Manami Yamasaki and singing magician David Chinsuko. Workshops enjoyable for both children and adults, such as "Hariko Papier-mache Painting Experience" and "Original Mask Making," will also be held, providing opportunities to casually engage with art.
