The "Wakayama Monodukuri Cultural Festival 2026" is Wakayama Prefecture's first participatory, hands-on event themed around "Creating the Future of Monodukuri: Experience and Learning". Manufacturing industries, including traditional industries from northern Wakayama Prefecture, gather in one place where visitors can experience each company's outstanding craftsmanship on the spot. By visiting manufacturing sites usually closed to the public, conversing directly with artisans, watching their techniques, and experiencing the craft firsthand, visitors can tangibly feel the fascination and joy of making things. Through this event, it aims to bring manufacturing closer to local people and nurture a new culture that weaves Wakayama as a production center into the future. Visitors can discover the diverse charms of industries rooted in Wakayama, such as woodworking, lacquerware, metal processing, and textiles.
