Japanese name:地場産業まつり(紀州漆器まつり・家庭用品まつり)
📅 Sat, Nov 7, 2026 - Sun, Nov 8, 2026
About this event
This is a signature festival representing Kainan City, centered on its proud Kishu lacquerware and household goods industries. It is held annually on the first Saturday and Sunday of November across their respective venues on the same dates. The Kishu Lacquerware Festival takes place mainly in front of the Kainan Hareame Lawn Square, featuring lacquerware markets by local wholesalers and creatively designed booths. At "Uruwashi-kan," where traditional lacquerware and lacquer art pieces can be viewed, visitors can also enjoy maki-e painting workshops. Additionally, the Kishu Lacquerware Cup Mini 4WD Competition will be held on Sunday the 8th. The Household Goods Festival is held at the Kainan City General Gymnasium, serving as a festival to showcase the excellence of Kainan brand products, enhance the industry's image, and express daily gratitude. Each venue features sales of local specialties and bargains, along with various hospitality events. Because congestion is expected around the venues, the use of temporary parking lots and free shuttle buses is recommended.
