About this event
Organized by Shingu City Library, "Bibliobattle Shingu 2026" is a book introduction communication game held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at Tankaku Hall. Participants bring a book they found "interesting" or "want someone to read," and introduce its appeal within 5 minutes per person. In addition to presenters of junior high and high school age, the event is recruiting "voters" who participate in voting and "observers" who can enter and leave at any time. Presenters whose books are chosen as the Champ Book will receive the right to participate in the Bibliobattle Wakayama Prefectural Tournament and 10,000 yen worth of Shingu City gift certificates. Presenters are recruited in junior high and high school divisions, and Champ Book presenters earn entry into the prefectural tournament. Voters can take part in deciding the Champ Book, while observers can casually enjoy the event's atmosphere. Applications are accepted by phone, in person at the library, or online, with the application period for presenters running from Tuesday, September 15 to Thursday, October 15, 2026. A display of Bibliobattle-related books is also being held at Shingu City Library, serving as a helpful reference when choosing a book for participation.
