About this event

At Kongobuji Temple, the "Kongobuji Autumn Special Viewing" will be held to coincide with the beautiful autumn foliage season. During this period, the Okuden (inner sanctuary), which is normally closed to the public, will be specially opened, allowing visitors to admire the sliding door paintings (fusuma-e) created by artist Kori Ishizaki. In addition, the Banryutei rock garden, adorned with beautiful autumn leaves, can be viewed from a different angle than usual. Furthermore, a special unveiling of the seated statue of Kobo Daishi, the principal image of the Jibutsuma at Kongobuji, will take place. Through the beautiful autumn scenery and this limited-time special viewing, visitors can connect with the history, culture, and prayerful spirit of Mount Koya. Visitors will receive a clear file folder on a first-come, first-served basis (while supplies last).
