About this event
This is the autumn festival of Kido Shrine, enshrined in Miyose, Hidakagawa Town, Wakayama Prefecture. Expressing gratitude for bountiful harvests, the highlights of this festival are the valiant running horses (kakeuma) and the festival floats (dashi) crafted each year with elaborate designs by local youth. The craftsmanship of the floats, which reflects the distinct characteristics of each year, is also well worth seeing.
