Japanese name:門脇家住宅 秋季一般公開
📅 Sat, Oct 31, 2026 - Tue, Nov 3, 2026
About this event
This is the autumn public opening of the Kadowaki Residence, a Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property. The Kadowaki Residence is a historic thatched-roof residence representing large-scale traditional houses in Tottori Prefecture, built in the 6th year of Meiwa (1769). Located in the Tokorogo Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, its thick beams rising high from the earthen floor present a grand and stately appearance. Additionally, the teahouse built during the Bunsei era harmonizes with the roji garden path to create a magnificent landscape. Please take this opportunity to experience the enduring charm of the Kadowaki Residence passed down since the Edo period.
