The renewal opening commemorative event 'Rekihaku Autumn Festival 2026' will be held at the Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. At this event, along with powerful Izumo Kagura and Izumo Taiko performances, the Sagi-mai (Heron Dance) of Yasaka Shrine in Tsuwano Town will be presented at Rekihaku for the first time. In addition, visitors can make their own lanterns at the 'Watermark Lantern' making workshop to enjoy long autumn nights. Furthermore, various museum experience corners will be set up, including a 'Search for Silver!!' gravity separation experience, ancient accessory making, pottery puzzles, and tin badge making, with participation from nearby museums such as the Iwami Ginzan World Heritage Center, Kojindani Museum, Izumo Yayoi no Mori Museum, and Kamoiwakura Site Guidance. The venue will also feature food stall corners and large inflatable play structures for children, offering an all-day experience for the whole family to enjoy.
