Held in Masuda City, Shimane Prefecture, the '54th Masuda Suigosai / Takatsu River Fireworks Festival 2026' is a fireworks festival that lights up the summer night sky against the backdrop of the Takatsu River, renowned as Japan's cleanest river. Once loved by many citizens and previously suspended, the 'Masuda Suigosai' makes a comeback for a new era as the 'Takatsu River Fireworks Festival.' On the day, with the Takatsu River estuary riverbed as the main venue, a 25-minute feast of fireworks will unfold. In addition to fireworks, a variety of events will be held simultaneously, including the 'Takatsu River Basin Marche' featuring ingredients and crafts from Masuda and Iwami, the traditional 'Takatsu Hachimangu Suigosai Shinto Ritual,' 'Takatsuhama Horan-e,' and 'Takatsu River Night Kagura,' where visitors can enjoy a collaboration between Masuda's Kagura and DJs. A food stall village will also be set up on the right bank, making it a festival where you can fully enjoy the region's charm all day long. In case of stormy weather, it will be postponed to the following day.
