"Children of Hiroshima" Picture Book Original Artwork Exhibition & Akitsu Takegami Woodblock Print Exhibition

About this event

This exhibition introduces the original illustrations and poetry from the picture book "Recitation Poem: Children of Hiroshima" by poet Goro Shikoku and picture book author Yoshifumi Hasegawa. Alongside these, "Atomic Bomb Drawings by Citizens"—painted by atomic bomb survivors in Hiroshima based on their own exposure experiences—and materials by Goro Shikoku, who supported their creation, will be displayed. Furthermore, colorful works by Akitsu Takegami, a printmaker from Yasugi City, will also be exhibited. Visiting these three exhibits will provide an opportunity to reflect together on thoughts for lost lives and the joy of living in the present.
