Held at Iwatakiji Temple in Hazumicho, Gotsu City, Shimane Prefecture, 'Hazumi Fair' is a summer festival where children take center stage. It is packed with fun and challenging activities, such as children setting up festival stalls from scratch, enjoying the esports game 'Taiko no Tatsujin' on a big screen, and presenting kids' dance performances. In addition, everyone dances together in a Bon dance; as a dance to memorialize ancestors and cherished departed ones, memorial 'mini lanterns' are placed in the center and 'memorial lanterns' hang overhead. Run by volunteer staff, the event aims to be a place where children enjoy taking on challenges and foster a love for their hometown. Admission is free.
