About this event
Held annually on November 23 in Tsuwano Town, Shimane Prefecture, the "Shorinzan Tenmangu Shrine Annual Festival" takes place in late autumn when autumn foliage deepens and seas of mist are beautiful. The highlight of this festival is the Daimyo Procession, in which people clad in black happi coats hold feathered spears, bows, and other items, slowly marching to the rhythm of songs. The gallant procession by participants in traditional attire leaves a deep impression on visitors. Held in the solemn atmosphere of Shorinzan Tenmangu Shrine located at the foot of Mount Aono, this festival is a precious opportunity to experience local history and culture.
