About this event
The Tamashima Festival, cherished as a citizen-participation, community-crafted festival, will change its event timing in 2026 and take place on Saturday, September 26. While traditionally held in August, the timing was revised to ensure a safer and more comfortable experience, out of consideration for the safety of visitors and staff given recent extreme summer heat. On the day of the event, a wide variety of activities will be held, including the traditional "Citizens' Mass Dance" and a family interactive plaza for children. Furthermore, the Food Truck Street will feature numerous popular food trucks from Kurashiki and Okayama, including shops connected to Tamashima, offering a wonderful gourmet experience. The event runs from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
