In conjunction with the rebuilding plan of the National Theatre, Denchu Hirakushi's masterpiece "Kagami Jishi" (from the collection of The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo) is on loan to the Ibara City Denchu Hirakushi Art Museum and is on permanent display until around mid-2029 (Reiwa 11). Seizing this unique opportunity, the museum is holding an exhibition that can only be presented here, introducing the appeal of Denchu's works from a perspective different from the permanent exhibition. Centered around "Kagami Jishi", this exhibition showcases a collaboration between Denchu Hirakushi's diverse works and those of contemporary artists. The resonance between Shomei Yoh's painting "Night on the Galactic Railroad" and Denchu Hirakushi's sculpture "Shepherd" (Bokujin) is a special display that can only be experienced in this exhibition. With 20 contemporary artists participating, visitors can enjoy an adventure of beauty orchestrated by masters and contemporary artists.
