Classical Concert in Takahashi City

About this event

The "Classical Concert in Takahashi City" will be held, featuring a dream collaboration between local musicians and the Kurashiki Philharmonic Orchestra. Takahashi-born acclaimed pianist Yuto Kiguchi and violinist Rika Higuchi (guest concertmaster), who captivates audiences with her beautiful tone, will perform alongside the Kurashiki Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Higashi Kikuchi), active both in Japan and abroad. This is a special opportunity to experience up close the true resonance of the instruments and the breathing of professional musicians, completely different from what is seen in textbooks or videos. Please enjoy in the theater the powerful orchestra performance where sounds resonate all at once at the conductor's cue. The program is scheduled to include Sibelius's "Finlandia", "Scene" from Tchaikovsky's ballet music "Swan Lake", Ballet Suite "The Nutcracker" Op. 71a, and Tchaikovsky's "Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23".
