Tetsuro Kadoinaga Exhibition: Wood Birds – Supreme Craftsmanship
Japanese name:門永哲郎展 木鳥-鳥絶技巧-
📅 Fri, Oct 9, 2026 - Sun, Dec 6, 2026
About this event
This is a special exhibition showcasing delicate wild bird wood carvings by Tetsuro Kadoinaga, a wood carving artist residing in Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture. Works carved from blocks of wood and finished with paint are called "Kibitaki" (Wood Birds). The works meticulously capture everything from the texture of feathers and supple body movements to fleeting facial expressions, conveying a presence so vivid they seem almost ready to come to life. Focusing on small living creatures in nature, including wild birds, insects, and wild flowers, approximately 35 pieces that quietly observe the rich nature of this planet and the living things upon Earth—crystallizing those fleeting moments of beauty into sculpture—will be exhibited. As a related event, an "Artist Talk" gallery tour by Tetsuro Kadoinaga will also be held.
